Derby Daily Express, 4th December 1915 George Brown was employed as an oiler in the Carriage and Waggon Department at the Midland Railway. He had previously worked for 4 years in the warehouse of G. Austin and Co., provision merchants, of Derby. He enlisted at the beginning of the war, and he was only 17 when he arrived in France in February 1915. His parents resided at 315, Stockbrook Street, and his sister, Mrs. Hemmings, lived at 21, Moss Street.
